FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL

Ariana and André started school on Thursday, September 3rd. They got up early and got ready for school without any delays. André is in third grade! Our boy is growing up too fast. He likes his new teacher, Mrs. Conradt. I took them to school on their first day and I sneaked in their classroom to take some shots.

Ariana y André empezaron la escuela el Jueves 3 de septiembre. Ellos se levantaron temprano y se arreglaron sin ningún retraso. André está en tercero primaria! Nuestro hijo está creciendo tan rápido. A él le gusta su nueva maestra, Mrs. Conradt. Los llevé a la escuela el primer día y fuí a espíarlos en sus clases para tomar unas fotos.

Ariana is in first grade. She was so happy to return to school again. She loves it! Ariana is not with any of her friends from last year. She was a little disappointed at first but now she is making new friends. Her teacher’s name is Mrs. Dimmel.

Ariana está en primero primaria. Ella estaba muy felíz de ir a la escuela otra vez. A ella le encanta! Ariana no está en la misma clase con sus amigos del año pasado. Ella estaba un poco desilucionada al principio pero ahora está haciendo nuevas amistades. El nombre de su maestra es Mrs. Dimmel.

Comming back home!

My little Omi is going to Kindergarten! She started on Tuesday, September 8th. She was excited to go to the same school with her brother and sister. I took her to school on her first day and to my surprise she didn't cry! Actually, none of the children cried! Her teacher's name is Mrs. Young. I love her, she was Ana's teacher last year.

Mi pequeña Omi está en Kindergarten! Empezó el Martes, 8 de septiembre. Ella estaba muy contenta de ir a la misma escuela con su hermano y hermana. La llevé a la escuela en su primer día y para mi sorpresa ella no lloró. La verdad, ninguno de los niños lloró. El nombre de su maestra es Mrs. Young. Ella me encanta, fue la maestra de Ana el año pasado.

The next day we went to the "bus stop". I saw the bus coming and I told Naomi "the bus is coming" she looked at it and said "no, that's not my bus!" so I had to say "I'm pretty sure it is! When the bus stopped Naomi said "oh! it is my bus". Yep, the Short Bus.

Al siguiente día fuimos a la "parada del bus". Yo ví que el bus venía así que dije a Naomi "el bus ya viene" ella vió el bus y dijo "no, ese no es mi bus" entonces tuve que decirle "estoy segura que es ese!" Cuando el bus paró Naomi dijo "oh, es mi bus". (En los Estados Unidos hacen burla a los niños que van en un bus chiquito ya que son usados para transportar a niños con deshabilidades).

Our "First Time..."

One of my neighbors gave me about 5 dozen of peaches from his garden. I made a couple of peach pies (Alynn’s delicious recipe) but then I needed to do something with the rest of the fruit before it went bad. I had never canned before so I called Grand-ma Kay to ask for help. We got together at her house in Issaquah and canned the peaches! Yes, it was my first time canning!

Uno de mis vecinos me regaló 5 docenas de duraznos de su jardín. Hice un par de pies (receta de Alynn) pero necesitaba hacer algo con el resto de la fruta antes que se arruinara. Yo núnca había envasado alimentos así que llamé a la abuelita Kay para pedirle ayuda. Nos junstamos en su casa en Issaquah y envasamos los duraznos! Si, fue mi primera vez envasando!

While we’re canning the kids and Jeremy were outside playing Frisbee. Then, André learned to use the lawn mower and mowed the whole yard for Grand-pa. The girls had to have a turn too so Jer took them one by one. Yes, it was their first time riding the lawn mower!

Mientras estabamos envasando los niños y Jeremy estuvieron afuera jugando Frisbee. Después, André aprendió a usar la cortadora de césped y trabajó por un par de horas para el abuelito. Las niñas también tuvieron que tener un turno así que Jeremy las llevó una por una. Sí, fue su primera vez montando la cortadora!

After we’re done, Jer and I went to the theater to watch GI Joe. Grand-ma and Grand-pa watched the kids for us but before we left I went to check on Isabelle and I found her in a little tiny crib:

Después que terminamos, Jer y yo fuimos al cine para ver GI Joe. Los abuelitos cuidaron a los niños y antes de irons fui a ver a Isabelle y la encontré en una cunita:

Andre's Stitches

Andre cut his foot and we landed in the ER for stitches. He was a champ and watched the whole thing,visiting with the doctor about what he was doing. Luckily I grabbed the camera and the Doc was cool and let me film it. See it for yourself:

I don't like this chore

One of the kids chores is to pick up rocks in the front yard so we can plant grass in October. Andre and Ariana are okay with it, but Naomi does not like it. Jeremy drew squares around the yard for them so they work in just one spot at a time. Well, Naomi looked so unhappy that I had to take pictures of them.

Summer Vacation with our Friends

Our dear friends Todd and Alynn came back to Washington the second week of August. They stayed at our house and we were so happy to welcome them back! They arrived about 1 1/2 hour early and it was a big surprise when our kids yelled "they are here!". It was so nice to see them again. Alynn looks so beautiful (as always), they girls have grown up so much since last year, Louis is a sweet little talker and Todd looks great too. We had dinner together and then we just visited for hours. The kids played until it was time to go to bed.

Nuestros queridos amigos Todd y Alynn regresaron a Washington en la secunda semana de agosto. Se quedaron en nuestra casa y estuvimos muy contentos de tenerlos de regreso! Llegaron más o menos 1 1/2 hora antes de lo esperado y fue una gran sorpresa cuando los niños gritaron "ya están aquí". Nos dió mucho gusto verlos de nuevo. Alynn se ve tan linda (como siempre), las niñas han crecido mucho desde el año pasado, Louis es un niño muy dulce y platicador y Todd se ve muy bien también. Primero cenamos juntos y luego platicamos por horas. Los niños jugaron hasta que era la hora de ir a la cama.

The next morning Todd and Jer went diving. One of Jer's scuba friends was so kind that he took a week off so he could take us all diving every day during the week. Unfortunately the kids got the flu, one at a time. The next day I found someone to stay home with all the kids so the four of us, Ryan and Jim went diving. In the beginning we had some "technical difficulties" but Jim (the boat's owner) fixed all the problems. I only dove once because I get too cold. That day was windy, rainy and cold. The rest did two dives.
La mañana siguiente Todd y Jer fueron a bucear. Uno de los amigos de Jer fue muy amable de tomar la semana de vacaciones para poder llevarnos a todos en su bote. Desafortunadamente los niños se enfermaron y fue algo que paso de uno al otro. Al otro dia consegui alguien para quedarse con los niños y los cuatro pudimos ir a bucear. Al principio tuvimos unas "dificultades tecnicas" pero Jim (el dueño del bote) arreglo todos los problemas. Yo bucee una vez porque me da mucho frio. Ese dia habia mucho viento, estaba lloviendo y frio. El resto buceo dos veces.

After one dive I had to get warm again, so it took me four sweaters to do it!

Despues de mi buceada tuve que calentarme otra vez y me llevo cuatro sueteres para lograrlo!

FUN AT THE POOL
After having all the kids for two whole days at home we took them to the Federal Way Community Center to have some fun at the pool. They loved it!
Despues de tener a todos los niños dos dias encerrados en la casa los llevamos al Centro Comunitario de Federal Way para jugar en la piscina. Les encanto!.

Isabelle was jumping, splashing, playing, etc. She is so much fun that we asked her to put her face in the water and she did it! Isabelle salto, salpico, jugo, etc. Ella es tan divertida que le pedimos que pusiera su carita en el agua y lo hizo!.

PARK
We went to the park too. It was a little bit cold but the kids didn't care, they jumped in the water anyway. Tambien fuimos al parque. Habia un poco de frio pero a los niños no les importo, ellos se metieron al agua de todas formas.

The week that Alynn and Todd were here, Rachel and Rob became the parents of baby Rebecca. We went to their house to have dinner with them after church.

La semana que Alynn y Todd estuvieron aqui, Rachel y Rob tuvieron su bebe Rebeca. Fuimos a su casa a cenar con ellos despues de la iglesia.
