Summer Vacation with our Friends

Our dear friends Todd and Alynn came back to Washington the second week of August. They stayed at our house and we were so happy to welcome them back! They arrived about 1 1/2 hour early and it was a big surprise when our kids yelled "they are here!". It was so nice to see them again. Alynn looks so beautiful (as always), they girls have grown up so much since last year, Louis is a sweet little talker and Todd looks great too. We had dinner together and then we just visited for hours. The kids played until it was time to go to bed.

Nuestros queridos amigos Todd y Alynn regresaron a Washington en la secunda semana de agosto. Se quedaron en nuestra casa y estuvimos muy contentos de tenerlos de regreso! Llegaron más o menos 1 1/2 hora antes de lo esperado y fue una gran sorpresa cuando los niños gritaron "ya están aquí". Nos dió mucho gusto verlos de nuevo. Alynn se ve tan linda (como siempre), las niñas han crecido mucho desde el año pasado, Louis es un niño muy dulce y platicador y Todd se ve muy bien también. Primero cenamos juntos y luego platicamos por horas. Los niños jugaron hasta que era la hora de ir a la cama.

The next morning Todd and Jer went diving. One of Jer's scuba friends was so kind that he took a week off so he could take us all diving every day during the week. Unfortunately the kids got the flu, one at a time. The next day I found someone to stay home with all the kids so the four of us, Ryan and Jim went diving. In the beginning we had some "technical difficulties" but Jim (the boat's owner) fixed all the problems. I only dove once because I get too cold. That day was windy, rainy and cold. The rest did two dives.
La mañana siguiente Todd y Jer fueron a bucear. Uno de los amigos de Jer fue muy amable de tomar la semana de vacaciones para poder llevarnos a todos en su bote. Desafortunadamente los niños se enfermaron y fue algo que paso de uno al otro. Al otro dia consegui alguien para quedarse con los niños y los cuatro pudimos ir a bucear. Al principio tuvimos unas "dificultades tecnicas" pero Jim (el dueño del bote) arreglo todos los problemas. Yo bucee una vez porque me da mucho frio. Ese dia habia mucho viento, estaba lloviendo y frio. El resto buceo dos veces.

After one dive I had to get warm again, so it took me four sweaters to do it!

Despues de mi buceada tuve que calentarme otra vez y me llevo cuatro sueteres para lograrlo!

FUN AT THE POOL
After having all the kids for two whole days at home we took them to the Federal Way Community Center to have some fun at the pool. They loved it!
Despues de tener a todos los niños dos dias encerrados en la casa los llevamos al Centro Comunitario de Federal Way para jugar en la piscina. Les encanto!.

Isabelle was jumping, splashing, playing, etc. She is so much fun that we asked her to put her face in the water and she did it! Isabelle salto, salpico, jugo, etc. Ella es tan divertida que le pedimos que pusiera su carita en el agua y lo hizo!.

PARK
We went to the park too. It was a little bit cold but the kids didn't care, they jumped in the water anyway. Tambien fuimos al parque. Habia un poco de frio pero a los niños no les importo, ellos se metieron al agua de todas formas.

The week that Alynn and Todd were here, Rachel and Rob became the parents of baby Rebecca. We went to their house to have dinner with them after church.

La semana que Alynn y Todd estuvieron aqui, Rachel y Rob tuvieron su bebe Rebeca. Fuimos a su casa a cenar con ellos despues de la iglesia.

Ariana's Dance Classes

Ariana wanted to go to dance classes this summer. I registered her in hip-hop cheer leading classes through the City of Federal Way. She practiced once a week and, in the last class they had a presentation for all the parents. In the beginning they just did some stretching and warming up exercises. It was fun to watch the girls, all different ages and heights. They did a good job.

Ariana quiso tomar clases de baile este verano. La inscribí en una clase de hip-hop, porrista a través de la ciudad de Federal Way. Practicaron una vez por semana y en la última clase ellas hicieron una presentación para los padres. Al principio ellas solo hicieron estiramientos y ejercicios para calentar. Fue divertido ver a las niñas, todas de diferente edad y altura. Ellas lo hicieron muy bien.

After that, all the girls took their places and started the presentation.
Después de eso, todas las niñas tomaron sus posiciones y empezaron la presentación.

Even though Ariana enjoyed going to her classes, it was not the dance classes we were expecting. It was more cheer leading than hip-hop. I'll try to get her in better dance classes next time where she can actually learn to dance :o)

Aunque Ariana le gustó ir a sus clases, no era el tipo de clase que esperabamos. Estuvo más enfocado en pasos de porrista que hip-hop. Trataré de encontrar mejores clases de baile para ella la próxima vez donde ella pueda aprender a bailar :o)

Summer Gymnastics for Naomi

This year I decided to register the girls for summer classes. Naomi picked gymnastics! Since she was little, she liked jumping all over the place, monkey bars, climb ladders, etc. Jer has always said that she will be good for gymnastics and he was right.

Este año decidí inscribir a las niñas en clases de verano. Naomi escogió gimnasia! Desde que ella era pequeña le ha gustado estar saltando por todas partes, las barras, subir escaleras, etc. Jer siempre ha dicho que ella sería buena en gimnasia y estuvo en lo correcto.

Naomi is so flexible, I was very impressed on how well she did everything the coach was asking them to do. She is a natural at gymnastics. There were 2 more girls and her first class and 3 more and the second course. I was so proud of my daughter for taking the instructions so well.

Naomi es tan flexible, yo estaba muy impresionada en lo tan bien que hacía todo lo que la entrenadora pedía que hicieran. Ella es muy natural para esto. Habían dos niñas más en el primer curso y 3 más en el segundo. Yo estuve tan orgullosa de mi hija porque seguía las instruccions al pie de la letra.

She enjoyed every single class so she took two courses. I would have liked to register for more classes but I think it will be too much for her with school starting this year. We'll try later in the year again.

Ella disfrutó cada clase que fue a dos cursos. Me hubiera gustado inscribirla en más clases pero creo que será mucho para ella al empezar la escuela este año. Probaremos más adelante durante el año.

Time to Go!

I take care of so many kids during the week that everybody learns to be independent quickly and also to help each other.

Isabelle has been independent for a long time. When she was about 18 months she started to eat by herself with a fork and spoon, get dress and even putting her socks on. I don't have to worry about her going potty because she can climb the toilet and go #1 and #2 now.

One day, we were getting ready to go so I said: "Time to go... get in the car and buckle up". When I was helping Isabelle to get in her car sit I noticed her little tiny feet :o) I love my little Issy she makes us proud... must of the time.

Yo cuido tantos niños durante la semana que todos aprenden a ser indepedientes rápidamente y también a ayudarse entre ellos mismos.

Isabelle ha sido independiente desde hace mucho tiempo. Cuando tenía 18 meses empezó a comer con tenedor y cuchara por si sola, vestirse y aún ponerse sus calcetas. No me tengo que preocupar cuando ella tiene que ir al baño ya que ella puede subirse en el inodoro e ir numero 1 y 2.

Un día nos estabamos alistando para salir y como siempre les dije a los niños: “Hora de irnos… vayan al carro y abróchense el cinturón”. Cuando estaba poniéndo Isabelle en su silla me dí cuenta de sus pequeños piecitos :o) Adoro a mi pequeña Issy, ella nos hace sentir orgullosos… la mayoría del tiempo.

"One of the HOTTEST day ever"

Last week the kids and I went to visit Grandma Kay and Grandpa Dave in Issaquah. We took the kids to the park but we could not stay very long because it was too hot to be without a shade. This day the temperature reached 100 degrees! Grandpa and Grandma had a pool, water guns and bubbles at home for the kids. We set up a slip'n slide and they had a blast! Even though the water felt good the sun was too hot to be outside for very long so everybody decided to go inside the house to stay cool. Later that afternoon David came and let the kids pet his doggy. The kids had a sleep over (except Isabelle) and Jeremy and I went to watch the last Harry Potter movie in the evening. It was a really nice day for our family.

La semana pasada los niños y yo fuimos a visitar a la abuela Kay y el abuelo Dave en Issaquah. Llevamos a los niños al parque pero no pudimos quedarnos mucho tiempo ya que el sol quemaba y no había sombra. Este día la temperatura llegó a 100 grados! Los abuelitos tenían una piscina, armas de agua y burbujas en la casa para los niños. Pusimos un deslizador con agua y ellos se divirtieron mucho. Aunque el agua se sentía muy rica era muy caliente para estar afuera por mucho tiempo así que todos decidimos entrar en la casa para mantenernos frescos. Más tarde en el día David llegó y dejó que los niños acariciaran a su perro. Los niños se quedaron a dormir (a excepción de Isabelle), y Jeremy y yo fuimos a ver la última película de Harry Potter en la noche. Fue un día muy bonito para nuestra familia.
